2001 MLK is the Nucleus for Economic Activity & Social Energy in Atlanta's Westside
Welcome to 2001 MLK
Poised to become ground zero for a resurgent west Atlanta, this iconic property is located at the figurative crossroads of Atlanta’s past and future, and at the literal crossroads of major investments and infrastructure projects.
Built in 1972, the building has served as the home of NAACP, county and city agencies, and an African American art gallery. Forty-five years later, we are busy rejuvenating the 83,000 square foot property into a civic and commercial hub that builds on the current momentum of revitalization in Atlanta’s historic Westside neighborhoods. Once complete, the multi-million dollar overhaul will enhance the aesthetic appeal and economic vitality of this major thoroughfare.
Our vision is to make 2001 MLK a nucleus for economic activity and social energy. We are uniquely positioned to house the array of private, public and non-profit organizations that will collectively make Atlanta’s Westside one of the most vibrants submarkets in the region. Operating your business from 2001 MLK will provide you with the environment and support needed for you to be successful.

Welcome to the Neighborhood
At the Crossroads of Major Investments & Infrastructure Projects
2001 MLK is located directly across the street from Westview Cemetery, and just a short walk from the terminus of the West End Trail. The West End Trail was the first installment of the Atlanta BeltLine, connecting Gordon White Park to Westview Cemetery. You also have the City’s MLK J. Dr. Innovation Corridor Project that will include new sidewalks, landscaping, historic signage, street furniture, upgraded crosswalks, public art displays, new street lighting and new mobility options.
The iVillage @ MLK is a partnership between Invest Atlanta, City of Atlanta and MARTA to repurpose shipping containers at the H E Holmes MARTA Station. It is the first of its kind in the state of Georgia. To increase new business development while sustaining current businesses along the MLK Corridor, we have a MLK J. Drive Merchant Association where members receive endless support. In the past, MLKJDMA has supported businesses along the corridor receiving grants as well as providing resources partnering with Invest Atlanta and other organizations to anyone desiring to operate their business along the MLK Corridor.
